Description
I've always loved these two animated characters and I've been meaning to draw them for a long time. I tried a program called Artrage for this picture and it's a really fascinating program. it kind of emulates natural mediums but obviously I didn't take full advantage of it because I'm so used to regular digital art.
For Kimba I kind of combined how his father looks in the 2009 movie and how Kimba looks like in the 1997 movie. In the 1997 movie he has brown eyes but I added the blue eyes (that Panja (his father) and him in the older animated Kimba series have).
Anyway I really enjoyed drawing this and I feel like I finally made some justice for these two handsome characters. As I said I really love these two series (Lion King & Kimba the white lion/Jungle emperor leo) and might do some more art of them in the future. (First I'm going to start focusing on practicing human anatomy though. It's a subject I've been avoiding way too much for no good reason because I really enjoy drawing human characters.)
This picture took about 24 hours (+ possibly a few hours).
